Holly-Hunter
Holly Hunter, an American actor and producer, is well-known for her stellar roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes and awards, among them an Oscar for her film Piano. Early on she began performing on stage in several Broadway or Off-Broadway shows. Acting has always been her passion. When she was in fifth grade, she portrayed Helen Keller in an original show. The fifth grade was the year that following a bout of mumps, she lost hearing in the left ear. She did not allow that to stop her. As a teenager she studied drama, before moving in New York City. Hunter made her Broadway debut due to an accidental conversation in the company of Beth Henley, a playwright. The two worked together for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. As she settled in Los Angeles, she began to search for film roles. She landed one in the role of an actress playing the main character in Swing Shift. Over the past three decades Holly Hunter has been on various TV series and movies. Holly Hunter received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and she also received an award called the Women in Film Lucy Award.
