Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. Holly Hunter was awarded numerous prizes, including her first Oscar for her movie Piano. The successful actress began her acting career on the stage with an array of Broadway as well as Off-Broadway productions. It has always been her obsession. In the fifth grade she portrayed Helen Keller in an original play. In the fifth grade, following a bout of mumps, she lost her hearing in her left ear. She did not allow that to stop her. In college she studied theatre and then moved from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to New York City in pursuit of her goal. Hunter was able to make her Broadway debut due to an accidental conversation with Beth Henley, a playwright. They collaborated for Broadway Crimes of the Heart. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to land films to play. An supporting role was securing for Swing Shift. Her career spans more than 30 years, and she's been featured in numerous TV shows as well as series and films. Holly Hunter has a Hollywood Walk of Fame actor and was awarded the Women in Film Lucy Award.
